Where can I find a publisher for Mental Health?
Sunday, March 9th, 2008asnbeauty174 asked:
I am thinking of writing a book about mental health (my own experiences) and I am looking for a publisher to help me.
I finished writing a short “outline” for a book on my own experiences, and even though I’m still debating whether or not I want to publish it, I would like to know what publishers require before I decided whether or not I want to continue with this “project”. I’m sure each publishing company is different with their standards, but all I’m asking is for the general idea.

What should we do for a mental health/eating disorders awareness week?
Saturday, March 8th, 2008Maisie asked:
My friends and I are in charge of organizing a mental health and eating disorders awareness week at our high school. We are trying to come up with ideas to get students interested and educated on the stuff we’re focusing on (EDs, self harm, suicide, self-esteem, etc.)

Do you have any suggestions? We are going to have things like petitions and a No-Diet Day, as well as information on resources, but I’m looking for interactive ways to get the school engaged. Thanks!

What is the model of psychiatry and mental health services in Canada?
Tuesday, February 5th, 2008Archetypal asked:
In the U.S. psychiatry has turned into a medication-oriented discipline. Any ‘psychotherapy’ offered is mostly cognitive-behavioral, and quite brief in duration. Finding a psychiatrist or mental health professional to discuss the big existential problems is next to impossible in the U.S. I’m wondering if it’s like that in Canada as well since their healthcare system is different, or so I understand.

What are some good professional mental health articles?
Thursday, January 17th, 2008Andrew asked:
I need 2 professional articles (Like from Social workers or PHDs) and 3 popular media articles about mental health for a project. I was wondering if someone would like to show me some, or lead me to a site that had some decent professional articles, since those are the hardest to find.

Monday, December 24th, 2007How to bring up mental health screening at doctor’s?
Thursday, December 6th, 2007Candy E asked:
I am a college student and would like to go to the campus doctor about a mental health screening. I have been hearing things that no one else hears along with occasionally seeing things no one else sees. I started looking up information in schizophrenia when this started. A good friend of mine has it so I am familiar with some of the symptoms. I believe I may be in the early stages of it. I don’t know how to bring up this concern with the doctor. Any suggestions? And please, no answers from people just trying to be funny. I am looking for serious suggestions.

What is the required degree and major; to become a councilor for mental health?
Friday, November 16th, 2007Andrew asked:
I am a student at a community college. I am just wondering what is the required degree and major to become a councilor/therapist for mental health patients. Is it true that you have to major in sociology to become a councilor? Can I get an associates degree to be a councilor foe mental health? Are councilors required to have masters degrees? Thanks
