what is the process for a general discharge for mental health?

What is the process for a general discharge w/ mental health for post traumatic stress diorder? Once it clears all the psychological side and there’s paperwork to be signed off on, who gets it first, legal or the chain of command. Also how long does it take to go to TPU and how long to be completely discharged?

   in the army i have seen people get discharged a couple weeks after they first talked to mental health, but I have also seen it take up to 2 months. It all depends on what is going on in your unit and how busy your commander is. It is your chain of commands decision in the end, then after they sign off, you go on to finish clearing.
